Swinging Back Toward Summer

But today

Today is the Winter Solstice, so it’s the shortest day of the year. Here in Denver, sunrise is 7:17 am, sunset at 4:39 pm—9 hours and 22 minutes of daylight. So little sun it’s literally depressing. But the good news is today is as bad as it gets.

We’re the farthest away from the sun we can every be right now, and it’s cold and dark and sad but tomorrow, we‘ll be a little bit closer. And the next day a little more close than that. And so on and so forth until we’re laying in the sun by the pool again and all is right in the world.

the winter solstice is when we all start swinging back around toward summer. No longer spiraling into the darkness, today we start reaching toward the light.
